I started Peak Digital Productions in September of 1995. My job at a large company was unchallenging and stressful. After deciding I needed a lifestyle change, Peak Digital Productions was born. Having always been interested in both photography and computers, I decided to bring the two together and provide a wide range of digital photographic services. First came restoration, then the discovery of image manipulation. Friends provided me with photos to experiment with, and slowly my knowledge and ability increased.

While working at my previous job, I was asked to analyze quality control data for my work area. I began using Microsoft Excel® to do this, and found it to be a very powerful tool. By following one of my favorite phrases, "There has to be a better way..." I discovered more and better ways to work with data. After discovering VBA, Excel's automation language, I was able to create tools that allow any user to harness the most powerful abilities of Excel with the click of one button. I decided to add this service to my business.

I chose the name Peak Digital Productions for my new business. The name, and logo, are inspired by a mountain peak that overlooks my favorite lake in Idaho's Sawtooth mountains.

Since that time I have continued to learn and develop new skills to serve my customers better. My experiences with VBA led me into programming in the Visual Basic language. Database solutions incorporating Microsoft Access®, and SQL Server® became a major portion of my work. I spent a few years developing financial software for a local government agency. With the advancement of the Internet, in 2003 the addition of ASP and online databases for dynamically controlled web sites was a logical step.

In 2007, I shifted focus to PHP, CSS and MySQL for the majority of my web site projects. This change allowed far greater flexibility and advancement in features, along with adoption of modern standards and methodology.

The year 2008 brought Adobe Flex to my attention, and much of my time since has been devoted to developing Rich Internet Applications in Actionscript (Flash). This platform has proved to be the most powerful and feature-rich of any system I have worked in. The possibilities are virtually endless.

With the downturn of the economy and the resulting effects on my business in 2009, changes were inevitable. Late in the year, the difficult decision was made to bring most daily operations of Peak Digital Productions to a close as of January 1, 2010. While I will remain available to support past clients and projects, I will no longer be actively seeking new projects for this business.

I thank my clients for your past support.
